The following account about an aircrash in Rochester is from one of our petitioners against Medway Council’s “Rochester Airport Masterplan”.

“The plane did in fact injure 3 school girls one of them being my mother. She was 15 at the time and lived in Grafton Avenue, just around the corner to the crash site. One of her friends was quite seriously injured although I believe that she made a full recovery. I actually recall my mother telling me that one of the aircraft’s wheels struck her friend in the back and actually left a tyre tread mark on her clothing! Amazing escape!”
